A page turned...

Two years ago, having just graduated from UCSD at the tender age of 20(cue:awww) and stepping into the corporate world, my life was pretty darn perfect.

I had an internship, was starting a theatrical venture, was starting a Master's program - woohoo!

Fast forward two years, and I'm sitting here typing out an almost-eulogy to the two years gone by.

I'm finishing up a Master's in Integrated Marketing Communications (yes, yes, it's a mouthful. Then again, have you tried pronouncing my last name recently? V-e-n-... you get the idea) and resigning from my job in Synopsys' Market Research (where everybody tried pronouncing my last name) and here, get this - LEAVING the Bay Area.

Yep, you heard me right. Leaving the Bay Area, my home away from home, my island of comfort where I ran back to after spending two treacherous (read: glorious) years in Southern California (yes, I'm worldly).

After ten years, give or take a few, I'm leaving the Bay Area and flying to India, to embark on what might very well be my experience of a lifetime - interning at JWT Chennai. For those of you who want to know why this has been the cause of much ruckus in my life lately - read this, and then you'll know.

Now that I've sufficiently alluded to the fact that this is a dream come true, I have to warn you. This blog will most likely be an amalgamation of the chaotic inner workings of my mind. After taking a cultural ethnography course this term, and having enjoyed it so thoroughly, I must I must I must put it to use. Welcome to Sights and Scenes!

Many of you may know me from my other blogs (Music blog and/or Industry blog), and it is a distinct pleasure for me to welcome you all to this one, which despite having the same author, will not have any similar elements.

Alright, alright, I confess. That little widget to the right holds my music, which along with the links leading to my Industry Blog on Advertising and Emerging Media, is really just unashamedly propagating my web presence.

Apart from that however, this account of events here will recount experiences, observations, emotions and all-out enjoyment. I will be blogging regularly, from the road when I travel, or from my home base in Chennai for the foreseeable future.

So stay tuned, and remember to subscribe/follow me!
